LinkedIn Contact Manager (LICM)
We Highly Recommend LICM!
LICM is the only real solution to managing your LinkedIn connections. It goes beyond the basic fields in the exported connection list. It reads the profile of each of your connections to grab a host of info like number of connections and metro area. LICM creates a database of your connections that you can search and filter to create a custom contact list with name and email address. The list can be exported into another program to send mailings. Or it can send a mailing for you!
LICM reads LinkedIn data such as:
- Connections. LICM reads in many fields, including name, email address, number of connections, industry, title, and location.
- Contacts
- Sent Invitations
Applications
There are many ways to use LICM. Here is one.
I needed to send a mailing to local recruiters.
- I updated my contact database from the Main Tab.
- I clicked the Contacts tab.
- For the location field I selected the Area radio button and then my metro area in the pulldown box.
- I set up multiple searches where A. the Industry field was selected as Human Resources or Staffing-Recruiting or B. In the Currently field I entered keywords HR, Staffing, Recruit, and Human. The multiple searches are necessary because people identify themselves differently. Some people use Industry for the company industry. Others use it for their personal function.
- I clicked the green checkmark to run the search.
- I clicked the button for 'Export selects emails to file' and entered an identifiable name like 'DFW Industry Staffing-Recruiting 90.txt' that included the number of included emails.
- This process resulted in several files that I moved into a separate folder. I used an email address extractor to extract the email addresses and remove duplicates.
- I pasted the addresses into my email program's bcc field and sent the group message. If I have more than few hundred addresses I use group email software.
